The ORG is over the moon after this past home inaugural bout on Saturday February 9th 2013. The Orangeville Roller Girls and Pear Home Presents Love Hits! a Valentine’s Throwdown. Orangeville’s Pulp Affliction vs. Fergus Roller Derby’s Fergus Feims turned out to be a great success.

The whole league worked extremely hard to make this bout happen, and we had no idea how the turn out was going to be and it was way over our expectations!

We want to start by thanking some of the people that helped make this happen. First BLAMO Designs ( they have been an amazing sponsor and supporter of the ORG since the beginning. They are our official clothing sponsor and provided the team with their jerseys and all of our merch that we had for sale at the bout! They were also kind enough to put up a window display to promote the bout the week before. Thank You BLAMO! Our co-host for this bout was Pear Home ( they are one of our first sponsors and we couldnt have put on the bout without them! Thanks! Our Food and Beverage Sponsor Fionn MacCool’s they served all the spectators beer and the ORG’s favourite Blarney Chips! Some of the other sponsor’s include: RogueCitrus, The Altered Native, Monica Bond Realty, Lord Dufferin Dental, The Bluebird Cafe, Woolwich Dairy & Trina’s Cakes we thank you all again as we couldnt have done it without you! We also want to thank DJ Rodney for the tunes, our half-time entertainment Delaney, Hip-Check Hershel our announcer, all the REFS, NSO’s (non-skating officials) and Volunteers, Joe Mac and Sean Murphy for capturing the action on camera, Monster Muffin ( and of course all of the fans that came out to see what Flat-Track Roller Derby is all about!

Now lets talk about the game! As it was our first home bout on home turf we were all feeling the pressure to be great hosts and win the game. The first half we were in the lead, with only 10 penalties under our belt. The second half we were in the lead for the most of the 30 minutes but then we started to get more penalties which left us short players on the track. As the second period ends what we thought would never happen we tied the game!!! (Which is few and far between in the derby world) in the overtime jam everyone was on the edge of their seats for the whole 2 minutes! Our jammer Starbust #5 held her own and won us the game 166-164! It was such a close and intense game and we are all so happy with how it turned out! We send our derby love to the lovely ladies of the Fergus Feims you chicks are tough and you know we are always up for a game with you! Thank you for such a great home opener! (

See ya all again on April 20th for our next bout against Grey Bruce Roller Derby’s Highland Dames!
