Categories: News

On September 6th, 2014 Orangeville Roller Girls A Team, Pulp Affliction, hit the track against Motor City Madames of Durham Region Roller Derby at the Orangeville Fair Grounds, the home track of Orangeville Roller Girls. To date, Pulp Affliction had never lost a home game and they were able to maintain this glory with a close score of 174-159. Both teams had a great time and showed a phenomenal amount of sportsmanship towards one another, the referees (“Zebras”) and Non-Skating Officials (“NSO’s”).

At the end of the game, each team nominated one MVP jammer and one MVP blocker from the opposing team. The MVP blockers were Eleanor Rigamortis #D13 of Pulp Affliction and Laya Beaton #05 of Motor City Madames. The MVP jammer awards went to Fearless Va Jay #53X of Pulp Affliction and Daisy Tripher #1223 of Motor City Madames. Congratulations ladies!

A big thank you to all of our sponsors, NSO’s and Zebras, without your time and commitment, this game would not have been possible.

Lastly, a shout out to the spectators. Orangeville Roller Girls have been told time and time again that they have one of the best audiences when it comes to spectator involvement and attendance. This game had very high attendance and the energy from the crowd was nothing short of spectacular. Thank you to everyone who came to watch our game and cheer for us! It is great to have such outstanding support from the community and we can’t wait to see everyone at our next game!

Be sure to catch the ladies of Pulp Affliction at their next home game on October 18th vs. Kingston. Tickets will be available a few weeks leading up to the game. As always, this will be a family friendly event, with a bake sale and adult beverages for those who are 19+. We hope to see you there!

Derby love,
